Download stories before they disappear

Stories are Instagram's most ephemeral format: 24 hours and they're gone. If a creator posts a tutorial, an announcement or a moment you want to keep, the Story Downloader lets you save it while it's still live. Paste the profile link and every currently-active story — photos and video segments — is listed for download.

How story downloading works

Unlike posts, stories don't have individual permanent links in the app, so this tool works from the profile: instagram.com/username. InFetch checks that profile's active story tray and extracts each segment in order, in the 1080×1920 vertical format stories are published in, with video segments delivered as MP4 including audio.

Highlights and expiring content

Currently the tool fetches active (unexpired) stories from public profiles. Story highlights are archived stories and need a different lookup — if you need a highlight, the profile owner can share the individual story link while it's live, or you can ask them directly. Either way, only public content is accessible; private accounts are off-limits.

A note on privacy

Stories often feel personal even on public accounts. Save them for your own reference, and don't redistribute someone's story — especially anything with people in it — without their say-so. Downloading never notifies the poster through InFetch, but basic respect still applies.
